An unknown number of id Software employee has been fired.
Safe to say that anger is not the best time of id Software. This is a game that seems to be not bad but it does it so well I don’t play it myself, so I am not in a position to make judgments, and although Bethesda confirms that it is all normal, that might just have something to do with the fact that the studio suffered an unknown number of LAYOFFS today.
The word first LAYOFF came through my Twitter account 3D artist Joystiq.
“As part of standard business practice, regularly evaluate the id staff to make sure it has a workforce that meets the needs of the studio,” he said in a statement. “As part of that process, some employee id was recently let go.”
A little strange, perhaps, id Software site still sports the “we’re hiring” banner and Bethesda said “still recruiting and hiring qualified developer” for the studio. The company also stated that construction on the new id game, which I take to mean Doom 4, “continues.”
